Journey to Jameson

About Us

We are the Hayes family-- Brian, Gina, Owen and Jameson. Our son, Owen, is twelve years old and loves hunting and fishing with his dad and drumming in his two bands. We are so very proud of our new addition, Jameson Harper Hayes, the daughter and sister that completes our family.

I prayed for this child,
and the Lord has granted
me what I asked of him.
1 Samuel 1:27
We witness a miracle every time a child enters
into life. But those who make their journey
home across time and miles, growing within
the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed
among us by God's very own hands.

Last Day of Summer Break

My good friend, Haley, went with me to register at Wal-Mart this morning. Had no idea what that entailed, so I needed someone with prior experience. And hey, that was fun times. I got the same "shopping euphoria" as when I'm actually purchasing things!! Get ready folks, you will be printing out about 50 pages of various and assorted baby items. hee hee
Our travel approval came today, which is a HUGE deal for everyone that has all of their paperwork in place. This lucky group has a tentative travel date of Aug. 26. We, unfortunately, do not fall into that category. Our updated homestudy has still got to be sent to Immigration and we have to be fingerprinted, AGAIN. Sounds simple enough, but it takes time. And I'm having to depend on others to get it done in a timely manner! I don't want our trip to be delayed too long. I guess I cried for about a good 30 minutes before Brian came in and talked me off the ledge.
I sincerely want to get into my classroom, get to know the kids and establish our routine before I leave them, but I think about my baby and am also VERY ANXIOUS to see her face to face and kiss her!!

Jameson's new room...

"THE CALL" coming during the summer was such a blessing, giving me time to get a few things accomplished for this baby girl. And this, of course, includes working on her room. I mentioned in an earlier post that I've had her bedding for YEARS. It was fun seeing all of the things that I'd forgotten. Mom, Diane (my mom in law), Farrah and I painted all day long it seemed (who knew a lovely shade of khaki would have been so hard to cover with baby pink???). Owen was in charge of switch and outlet plates and Justin helped us (involuntarily) to put up the curtains. You may have noticed a family member not making the work day. Hmmm....Brian was conveniently on a fishing trip in Canada.
