Journey to Jameson

About Us

We are the Hayes family-- Brian, Gina, Owen and Jameson. Our son, Owen, is twelve years old and loves hunting and fishing with his dad and drumming in his two bands. We are so very proud of our new addition, Jameson Harper Hayes, the daughter and sister that completes our family.

I prayed for this child,
and the Lord has granted
me what I asked of him.
1 Samuel 1:27
We witness a miracle every time a child enters
into life. But those who make their journey
home across time and miles, growing within
the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed
among us by God's very own hands.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Jameson thoroughly enjoyed her first Halloween with friends and family. Owen has deemed himself too old to "do Halloween" so he gave out candy for MeMe Saturday night and went to the Talledega race with Uncle Justin on Sunday.
I'm so glad to have Brian at home for one more week. I don't think he's going to be quite as willing to get up in the middle of the night after he's gone back to work. :-(
It's so hard to believe that Jameson has only been here for 11 days! What in the world did we do without her?

Jameson is enjoying playing with all her visitors, such a little social butterfly! She's getting ready for her first Halloween.

My First Week At Home...

We started off the week with a baby still on a China sleeping schedule, but after only a week, she's giving her tired parents a break. Jameson's taking 2 good naps during the day and sleeping most of the night. If she wakes, we can usually get her back down with just a little coaxing. Bless her little heart, she knows how much her mommy loves SLEEP!
Brian has been GREAT, getting up at night as much or more than me. So blessed that he got 2 weeks maternity leave, or I guess that would be paternity leave.
Jameson has had lots of company this week, incuding her great-grandmother, MawMaw Owens. She's had 2 playdates, trips to HBES and HBMS, a doctor's visit, and countless Wal-Mart adventures.
Miss Jameson's settling in and we're loving every minute of it.

The Princess is Home

Nana and Owen entertained Jameson on the way home from the airport. She took her first ride in a car seat pretty well. Michelle Moore surprised me with all of the elementary school out front to welcome us back from China. I loved seeing everyone and introducing Jameson. I'm going to visit my class this week and take them their gifts.
Jet lag was actually not bad for me, once I got some sleep on Thursday night, I felt sooo much better. However, Jameson is still sleeping on China time, so Brian and I are napping when she's down if we can. Hoping we can turn this around soon, whew!
Went to church Sunday morning and she just loved seeing everyone, she's just such a happy baby.
Owen and a friend of his, Nick, are entertaining Jameson as I post this. She's loving all of her new toys and our dog, Sophie. Sophie's been very forgiving of Jameson pulling her ears and her tail.
More pix later, possible of our usual 3 am playtime.

FINALLY back in Bham!

If I look tired and greasy in these photos, it's because I was tired and greasy. In case you wondered, there is not much sleeping on an international flight with a baby. Jameson just couldn't get comfortable and only slept in small spurts. But I sure can't complain because she didn't get upset or cry, even though we experienced 4 plane changes on the way home. She was such a trooper.
I was blown away by the family and friends that came to welcome us home at the airport. It meant so much to me. I'd imagined this very moment so many times over the years, but it was just better than I'd ever dreamed. She's finally ours and we're finally home.
