Journey to Jameson

About Us

We are the Hayes family-- Brian, Gina, Owen and Jameson. Our son, Owen, is twelve years old and loves hunting and fishing with his dad and drumming in his two bands. We are so very proud of our new addition, Jameson Harper Hayes, the daughter and sister that completes our family.

I prayed for this child,
and the Lord has granted
me what I asked of him.
1 Samuel 1:27
We witness a miracle every time a child enters
into life. But those who make their journey
home across time and miles, growing within
the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed
among us by God's very own hands.

If anyone is still following our beautiful China doll, you know that I've not posted any pictures for quite a while. My camera stopped working in January, so I've downloaded various shots tonight that I've taken of J with my new camera. Yea!!
She is now only in her braces for about 16-18 hours each day, letting her come out of them around lunch and not having to put them back until after her bath at night. We go back to the orthopedic surgeon in Bham on March 29; we're expecting him to prescribe the braces at night only. SO EXCITED!! She is so very near walking, is up on her feet most all of the time and is always wanting to walk holding our hands.
Jameson continues to be the most happy baby ever. She thinks her big brother, Owen, is the most fascinating person in the world. She can sit forever in his lap watching his TV shows or him on the DS or computer. She is learning new words every day, saying "mama", "daddy", "Ow" for Owen, "bir" for bird, "hat", "deer", and "arf" for dog. She's very much a MaMa's girl, but is so very happy to see her daddy when he comes home from work, she's shaking she wants to go to him so bad. She is staying with my mom and my mother in law during the week, and then with Brian on Fridays. She weighed 21 lbs the other day at the doctor's office, happy to try just about everything we give her to eat. She's made Brian very happy being a big meat eater. LOL! She smiles all the time, just such a joy.
I'm looking forward to this next week, being home for Spring Break. Even though I love teaching, I do miss her terribly every day. Already looking forward to summer!!
At times, we look at her in amazement, so thrilled to finally have her, in awe of just how perfectly perfect she is. The time we spent waiting completely erased, OUR baby was right on time.

Just playing around...

I've been slowing down with my posts...only because I've been working hard on our China photo book. With hundreds of photos to choose from, and I think I used most of them, the task took some time. I'm very proud of the finished product. I think when Jameson is old enough, she will enjoy following our journey through the pages of this book.

On to the braces....

Thursday, December 30-- At Dr. Doyle's office. Casts are off, waiting on Step 2...her braces.

Loving her legs again.

We get to take the braces off for only 1 hour each day.

My sweet baby girl and her new braces. She will wear them for 23 hours a day for 3 months. Then, just at night possibly until she is two years old. J's not adapting to the braces as well as she did to the casts. She's been very whiny and just mad! She can't yet turn herself over easily and wakes many times at night. I go back to work Monday so this isn't the best time for her to be up a lot at night, but we're sure she'll get in the groove quickly, she's a trooper.
